Kennedy Space Center project captures national attention

Flooring professionals from the Florida Carpenters Regional Council captured the attention of national trade publication Commercial Architecture Magazine for their excellent work in the Kennedy Space Center's Astronaut Encounter area on Merritt Island. Signatory contractor Mr. David's Flooring International (MDFI) and FLCRC members made the LED-lit floor a central design element of the facility.

The project had to be completed in two weeks, but our members met that challenge by working around the clock for 11 straight days to meet the deadline. Take a look at this project! (Check out page 24).

This is another successful project as part of the growing INSTALL flooring installation training and marketshare-building program at the FLCRC. In fact, Tony Troehler, president of MDFI, reports that in less than two years, the company has become one of largest commercial flooring dealers in Florida. With 27 full-time installation technicians, MDFI owes much of its success to having a trained and INSTALL-certified workforce.

Great work, everyone!
